The old name of the city of Varna is Odessos , which literally means town on water. The lively, modern Varna was first mentioned in chronicles as a settlement during the 8th century.

To testify for the centuries-long history of the region the treasure from the Chalcholitic Necropolis, exhibiting the oldest gold in the world is considered the peak of the archaeological revelations available for visitors in the Archaeological museum of the town.

As you further explore Varna you come across landmarks that date back centuries ago. However, the atmosphere in the town could be easily described as cheerful, modern, even giggling.

Ancient Roman Thermae, brilliant Ethnographic Museum, Maritime Museum, monumental Cathedral etc. reside with administrative buildings, theater and opera houses, defining the curious, yet sophisticated atmosphere of the city.

It is common to combine tours of Varna with some of the most distinguished places of interest in North -eastern and central Bulgaria. Royal residences, ancient temples and natural phenomena accompanied by folklore, equestrian and gourmet experiences are only a brief example of what our guests could choose to attend ashore.
