Port of Burgas is one of the major Bulgarian ports, situated in the westernmost point of the Black Sea – Burgas Bay. With 41km at its widest and 31km at its greatest innermost extent, Burgas Bay is one of the largest Black Sea bays, providing a good shelter for ships.

The port has deep draught berths with direct access to open sea. The port consists of 3 sub-terminals, East Terminal, Bulk Cargo Terminal and West Terminal and the newly introduced bulk Terminal 2A.

Expansion: The entire Terminal East went through major re-development, replacing the existing cargo operations with a passenger terminal for cruise ships and marina. The project incorporates the development of 2 berths with length of 320m, depth of 9.7m and a marine station for each berth with customs, immigration offices, shops, restaurants and other facilities.

Port of Burgas operates the passenger port of the ancient town of Nessebar, which is very busy during the summer season. With the new expansion, larger cruise ships calling at Burgas, will benefit from new port facilities, and better shore excursion possibilities. The ancient towns of Nessebar and Sozopol, Ropotamo nature reserve, salt lakes - are just some of the shore excursion opportunities within easy reach of Burgas.

Nowadays, Burgas has the characteristic mixture of artistic coziness combined with modern touch. During the last couple of years the town was proclaimed the best place to live in.
